Darkness has nothing to hope for.
In simple pleasure, one breath is the best yet conceived.
16. Abraham Lincoln (1861-1865) Part 6
“The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time.”
"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about

For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head." ~ Romans 12:20
"We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies.
Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of
affection. The mystic chords of memory, stretching from every battle-field,
and patriot grave, to every living heart and hearth-stone, all over this
broad land, will yet swell the chorus of the Union, when again touched,
as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.”
“I do the very best I can, I mean to keep going. If the end brings me
out all right, then what is said against me won't matter. If I'm wrong,
ten angels swearing I was right won't make a difference.”

two will build new dreams -- dreams that tomorrow will come true. The
world over, these are the thoughts at eventide when footsteps turn ever
homeward. In the haven of the hearthside is rest and peace and comfort.”
"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens
the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, ..." ~ Revelation 3:20

day of death than the day of one's birth; ~ Ecclesiastes 7:1

Abraham Lincoln holds cherished ideals of freedom
in honorable spirits to be better than we are. Each of us
should continue to strive to be better tomorrow than we are today.
Societies descend into the abyss when we grow callous
of one another, and despising of neighbors rages.
17. Andrew Johnson (1865-1869)
“I have been almost overwhelmed by the announcement of the sad
event [Lincoln's assassination] which has so recently occurred. I feel
incompetent to perform duties so important and responsible as those
which have been so unexpectedly thrown upon me.”

It is finding courage through adversity that brings strength to a soul.
“There are some who lack confidence in the integrity and capacity of the
people to govern themselves. To all who entertain such fears I will most
respectfully say that I entertain none . . . If man is not capable, and is not
to be trusted with the government of himself, is he to be trusted with the
government of others . . . Who, then, will govern? The answer must be,
Man for we have no angels in the shape of men, as yet, who are
willing to take charge of our political affairs.”

“I have performed my duty to my God, my country, and my family.
I have nothing to fear in approaching death. To me it is the mere

When it comes to the end of the day most find the tortures, and
blessings, of living alone. Slavery is captured in the bondage of
flesh, both physical and mental. In death life is found. Courage must
find its muster for salvations glorious path to flourish in the open.
Dreadfully, the onslaught of hate gasps upon all, with the hidden
frenzies of mankind, deception and scheming lurking at every turn,
stealing the truth children hope to have. Wickedness shines as the
darkest beacon in man’s halls of so called justice where anger
shouts louder than the blown back compassionate. Our petty raging
has chewed us to pieces, crippling long held goals of settled God
regarded freedoms. Nasty children dominate the adults where God’s
callings evaporate to nothing. Destiny of the suicidal oppressed;
bickering and self-denial have reduced all our magnificence to
sheets of disgust littered upon the ages. Legacies are devoured by
the few towering greedy showering lies upon the innocent. Is all
that we are for the shame of us? Fallen in our own chambers of
opulence, will perchance our children rise in a spiritual upheaval
declaring and reclaiming the glories heaven would want all to have?
Awaken citizens of God. If America is to be blessed, we must turn
back to God where all decency comes forth. Dear Lord, forgive us,
bless us, keep us. Many noble men have risen that we might remain
as free as we can be. Thank you, Lord, for the freedom given that
this great nation may find our guiding godly purpose, extending
out to all this world’s desperate prisoners. The fact is God delivers
freedom to those that embrace Him and His ways. May His
protection and enlightenment bring us back to good sensibilities.
